The Bixby Preformance Center

 

Preservation of historical features of the First Congregational Church in Long Beach, California, and rehabilitation of the building to a performance center to accommodate the demographic's needs based on the research and surveys of the city. Adaptive re-use of some of the original furniture and lighting fixtures was important to preserve the style from the 1914 era. The design highlighted the architectural features of the building such as skylights, stained glass, rose windows, and the terracotta trims and stone on the exterior.
